Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya (February 6) -- The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in Cagayan Valley is pushing for community involvement in its observance of Fire Prevention this month.
Senior Supt. Joe Soriano, BFP regional director said community involvement is one of the major factors on the prevention and suppression of fire incidents in the region.
"The community served as our good partner on various fire incidents in Cagayan Valley. Since 70 percent of our activity is confined on fire prevention, the help of the community is a big factor," he said.
Soriano also urged the community to be always involved on the proper prevention of fire incidents in their houses and community as a whole.
"As we know, fire incidents have multiplier effects such as unemployment, economic losses and others," he said over DWRV radio station here.
Soriano also added that many activities are also lined – up under their observance of fire prevention month in the region with the theme, "Sustaining Fire Prevention through Active Community Participation." (PIA NVizcaya) [top]
