PNP 2 awards best units, personnel and civilians
Tuguegarao City (8 February) -- The Philippine National Police (PNP) Regional Command 2 has awarded best police units, personnel and civilians who have contributed in the successful implementation of PNP activities, programs and projects towards the attainment of peaceful and orderly region.
Police Director Romeo C. Hilomen, Director for Comptrollership, conferred the plaque of recognition to the awardees as the highlight of the 19th PNP Anniversary celebration held in Camp Marcelo Adduru here.
Hilomen and PC/Supt. Roberto M. Damian, Regional Director, have acknowledged the significant role of the awardees in making all endeavors of the police department possible and successful.
For the Police Units, Cagayan Police provincial Office was awarded as the Model in the Provincial Transformation Program, Santiago City Police Office as Model in the City Transformation program, Cagayan Public Safety Management Battalion as Model Provincial Maneuver Unit, Santiago city Public Safety Management as Model City Maneuver Unit, Ilagan Police Station as Model urban Police Station, Quezon Police Staton as Model Rural Police Station, RHSC2 as Best Administrative Support Unit and RCLSO2 as Best Operational Support Unit.
For the individual awards, PSI Vicente B. Blancad was conferred the PNP Awardee of the Year 2009 and NUP Vivian G. Tumbali as Outstanding NUP of the Year.
For the Special awards, Brgy. Mangandingay, Cabarroguis, Quirino was adjudged as Model Brgy Peacekeeping Action Team; LGU-Baggao, Allacapan, Lasam, Ilagan and the Provincial Government of Cagayan were also given plaque of recognition in giving funds for the construction of Police Station in their respective areas and providing some equipments to the police.
Some civilians and mediamen were also given due recognition as partners of the PNP in all its programs and activities, thus contributing in the attainment of peace and order in the whole region.
Dominador Calonia, General Secretary of YMCA Cagayan was recognized for being the team leader in delivering goods to the islands of Cagayan for the relief operation from the United Samaritan Purse during the typhoon Pepeng.
Regional Director Purita S. Licas of Philippine Information Agency, DWPE, DZRH, DZCV, RBC, ABS-CBN, DZYT were also given recognition for the information dissemination on PNP's programs and activities.
Provincial Fire Marshall Kalinga, DPWH, 2nd District Representative of Isabela were likewise given recognition for their assistance in the conduct of rescue and relief operation during calamities.
In his message, Hilomen encouraged the policemen and the awardees to renew and deepen further their commitment to serve and protect the people. (Oliver B./PIA 2) [top]
