NVizcaya town opens P15-M PNP building

Solano, Nueva Vizcaya (February 9) -- A brand new Philippine National Police (PNP) building was formally opened in barangay Roxas here Monday (February 8) by police and local officials to house policemen in keeping peace and order in this bustling commercial town.
The P15 million-worth city-type 2 storey PNP building which was built on a 1,500 square meter lot will house the PNP's administrative and finance section, operations and logistics room, Police Non-Commissioned Officers (PNCO) room and reception hall among others.
Sr. Supt. Romeo Hilomen, chief of the PNP Directorate for Comptrollership who was invited as guest speaker said the PNP building is one of the priority integrated transformation programs of the PNP.
The funding for the new building came from the PNP through the facilitation of Rep Carlos Padilla and mayor Phillip Dacayo.
The lot was purchased by the municipal government as counterpart inorder to realize the project. The PNP building here is so far the biggest and most beautiful police station ever built in Cagayan Valley, according to Police Inspector Bert Aldea, chief of the Provincial Police Office's (PPO) Police ? Community Relations (PCR) section.
"Definitely, this new building and station will boost the morale of our personnel in managing and preserving evidences. There is no more reason for us not to deliver quality service," Hilomen said.
He added that while this town is not included in the COMELEC watch lists of provinces, cities and municipalities with high crime rate and political violence, "police should not let their guard down in serving their country."
Hilomen said that the new PNP building had been proposed during his stint as police provincial director in the province in the late 90s.
Hilomen was in this town after attending the PNP anniversary program in Camp Adduru in Tuguegarao City earlier.
