Students congress to tackle issues on environmental awareness and food security
San Jose, Antique (9 February) -- The students congress dubbed as "Future leaders of the Philippines" (FLP) Regional Work Conference will tackle issues on environmental awareness and food security to be held at University of Antique in Sibalom, Antique on February 10.
Regional Executive Director Julian Amador of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources will be the keynote speaker of the event with the theme "Environmental Awareness and Food Security: A Challenge".
Amador hopes to instill among the delegates from different state colleges and universities in Region 6 environmental consciousness and the value of caring and preserving the environment for future generations.
During the work conference, contest in various skills in areas of fishery, agriculture and forestry, literary, cultural and parliamentary procedures will be conducted to develop talents and skills of students as future leaders, said Beverly Lyneth Salvan, Information Officer of CENRO San Jose.
Bobby Villalobos, President, Future Leaders of the Philippines Association in Region 6 said that the event can also be a fitting venue for DENR to carry out its campaign and advocacy of caring for Mother Earth in consonance with its mandate to pursue environmental governance for clean and better environment.
