Cagayan PCSD to conduct search for cleanest and greenest hospital

Tuguegarao City (10 February) -- The members of the Provincial Committee on Sustainable Development (PCSD) Cagayan has added three additional searches in the regular search for friends of the environment this year.

Forester Robert Adap, OIC-Provincial Natural Resources and Environment Office (PNREO)-Cagayan, said aside from the regular search for model municipalities, cleanest and greenest school and model sustainable development projects, the committee agreed to add search for cleanest and greenest hospital, model office in the provincial capitol and outstanding teacher who acts as model in the implementation of ecological solid waste management.

Adap highlighted that search for cleanest and greenest hospital, public and private, will encourage the hospital administrators and staff to maintain cleanliness and healthy environment conducive to their clients.

"We need to make a move to encourage these hospitals to cater their clients in a clean and green environment and to improve their facilities that lead the maintenance of their surroundings", Adap added.

He further said that they will also start the conduct of the search for model office on solid waste management within the compound of the provincial capitol of Cagayan to serve as model to other offices.

Aside from these, the PCSD will also conduct search for outstanding teachers are teaching the proper waste disposals and serve as model in the practice of ecological solid waste management.

"There are teachers who have outstanding efforts in injecting knowledge and awareness to our children the proper waste management and serve as model to others in their community and in school in introducing ways to keep the environment clean", Adap.

Adap also added that these institutions and individuals must be given due recognition as partners in the environmental protection, preservation and the maintenance of the clean and green society. (Oliver B/PIA 2) [top]
