Mt Everest mountaineer urges CAVRAA athletes to be world-class
Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya (10 February) -- A pride of Nueva Viacaya, who is one of the Mt. Everest Team to successfully climb the highest mountain in the world, has urged CAVRAA athletes to excel to the chosen sports and soon reach the peak of success and become a competitive and world-class athletes.
Janet Belarmino-Sardena told to coaches and athletes during the opening of Cagayan Valley Regional Athletic Association (CAVRAA) held in this town her life experiences when she was an athlete playing lawn tennis representing the province of Nueva Vizcaya and was chosen to join CAVRAA athletes in the year 1994 and 1995 because of her notable performance.
She said that after graduation in high school, Belarmino-Sardena continued her college education in the University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman and became a varsity player in lawn tennis before joining the UP mountaineers club of the prestigious school of the country.
"Practice and endurance are the secrets to become a good athlete," Belarmino-Sardena said.
She said she never dreamt to be one of the members of the Everest Team and successfully reached the peak of the highest mountain in the world but destiny puts her to what she is now.
Belarmino-Sardena urged CAVRAA athletes to excel to the chosen sports event and raise the flag of Cagayan Valley to be renowned not only in Cagayan Valley and in the country but in the whole world. (PIA Isabela) [top]
