European Commission donates P1-M for NVizcaya hospital

Bambang, Nueva Vizcaya (10 February) -- The European Commission (EC) recently donated P1 million to the Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Hospital (NVPH) in barangay San Antonio here to improve its health services.
Dr. Edwin Galapon, chief of the NVPH said the amount will be augmented by a financial counterpart from the provincial government for the purchase of a 500 kilo volt generator to transform the NVPH into a brownout?free health center.
"With this power generator, our facilities and equipments will be assured of uninterrupted power outages, thereby enhancing our delivery of health services to our constituents," Galapon said.
The provincial government, he added also vowed to provide P5 million counterpart to help realize the project.
Other improvements are also on the way, according to Galapon such as the on-going negotiations for the acquisition of at least 2 hectare lot inorder to expand the hospitals area inorder to accommodate more improvements such as its proposed expansion to hous another 25-bed charity ward building.
According to Galapon, the latest infrastructure developments are part of the general program thrust of the provincial government in transforming health facilities in the province not only as an income generating health units but also as health-tourism models.
Last year, NVPH through the provincial government acquired a mobile hospital to bring health services closer to remote villages of Nueva Vizcaya. (PIA NVizcaya) [top]
