PDEA, Steag ink MOA on anti-drug initiative

Cagayan de Oro City (10 February) -- In the spirit of harmonizing anti-drug efforts and mobilizing various sectors to help crush the drug menace, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), in regional 10 and STEAG State Power, Inc. signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) at STEAG Power Plant in Balacanas, Villanueva, Misamis Oriental, today.

The MOA signing was done in a simple but meaningful rite with main signatories: Regional Director B/Gen Gilberto B. Abanto, Jr. (ret.) of PDEA in region 10 and Power Plant Manager Dr. Carsten Evers. The activity was witnessed by key officials and personnel from both parties.

Director Abanto said that this fortifies the commitment of both institutions for utmost cooperation in both supply and demand reduction program of the agency.

Abanto added that he will be signing MOAs with other concerned private companies in the near future after the details are agreed upon with their respective stakeholders.

This is a positive indicator that several sectors of our society have decided to unite with us in realizing the vision of a drug-free Philippines, Abanto said. (PDEA 10) [top]
