NVizcaya BIR honors top 2009 taxpayers

Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya (February 11) -- The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) here recently honored and awarded top individual and corporate taxpayers in the province in its bid to encourage timely and proper payment of taxes in the province.

Lawyer Maribel Utit assistant revenue district officer said the recognition and award for top 5 individual and corporate taxpayers in the province is a yearly activity of the agency in line with their thrust to encourage other taxpayers in settling their proper tax dues on time.

"These top taxpayers are models in the community worthy of emulation by their fellow taxpayers. With this recognition, we are also raising the level of awareness among our taxpayers on their responsibilities and obligations to the government," Utit stressed.

The top 5 individual taxpayers are: First - Efren Apan of Bambang town, 2nd - Jolly Zapata of Solano town, 3rd - Edgardo De Guzman of Solano town, 4th - Ramon Lim of Solano town and 5th - Zenaida Saddul of Bayombong town.

On the other hand, the top 5 corporate taxpayers in the province are : 1st ? Agribusiness Bank, Inc. of Solano town, 2nd - Rural Bank of Bagabag, Inc. of Bagabag town, 3rd - Cordillera Savings Bank of Bayombong town, 4th - Rural Bank of Bayombong town and Fifth ? Rural Bank of Solano town.

Utit said the prompt and proper payment of taxpayers in the province have contributed to the increase on their yearly tax collections.
