Comelec Isabela reiterates use of common poster designated areas
Cauayan City, Isabela (February 11) -- As the Commission on Elections (Comelec) marked February 9, 2010 as the official start of campaign salvo for national candidates, the City Election Officer here reiterated to supporters of national candidates here to use the common poster areas to post campaign materials of their candidates.
City Election Officer Efehenia Marquez made the call after national candidates launched today their campaigning strategies like radio and television plugging including the use of campaign materials like posters, streamers, tarpaulins and other forms of campaign materials aimed at gaining votes comes May 10, 2010, the election day.
Earlier, the election office here designated the Rizal and Luna Park, Isabela State University-Cauayan City Campus, city public market, Our Lady of Pillar Parish, National Irrigation Administration-Magat River Integrated Irrigation System (NIA-MRIIS) premises and in the Barangay Halls as common poster areas in the city.
Marquez warned the supporters of national candidates to follow the election regulations to avoid being caught up posting campaign materials and face charges if found violating Comelec regulation.
She said the Philippine National Police was tapped by the Comelec to monitor the violators and file charges if found violating Comelec laws and regulations.
At this early, Marquez called on all supporters to use the common poster areas in the city to have a smooth flow of election activities until May 10, 2010 and even beyond.
On March 26, 2010, local candidates will also be the start of official campaigning and they were also advised by the Comelec office here to follow Comelec laws and regulations. (PIA Isabela) [top]
