Zamboanga taekwondo delegates leave for US competition
Zamboanga City (12 February) -- Zamboanga delegates Taekwondo team left the city to participate in the 2010 U.S. Open Taekwondo Championships in Las Vegas, Nevada USA from February 10-14.
The Zamboanga delegation is composed of players Marlon Avenido, Nolene de los Reyes, Aries Jones Alviar, Alvin Macrohon, Sarah Gail Arcillas, Ma. Rachelle Cuenca, Jenefer Tayag and Daphne Ramillano and head coach Dennis Aquino.
The Zamboanga Taekwondo team has won numerous medals in both national and international competitions prior to the Nevada championships.
The competition will be held at the Tropicana Hotel Las Vegas in Las Vegas, Nevada.
USA Taekwondo is a member of the United States Olympic Committee (USOC), the organization overseeing 45 sports governing bodies in the United States involved with Olympic, Paralympics, and Pan American sporting competitions.
Prior to their departure to Manila the other day, Mayor Lobregat extended best wishes to the taekwondo players and encouraged them to do their best for Zamboanga and the Philippines. (City Information Office/PIA ZC) [top]
