Tagalog News: Tax campaign sa motels inaasahang makakolekta ng P500 milyon

Koronadal City (12 February) -- Mahigit limang-daang milyong (P500M) buwis ang inaasahang makokolekta ng Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) sa mga motels bilang bahagi ng kampanya ng ahensiya na magseseguro ng koleksiyon ng tamang buwis mula sa mga nasabing institusyon.

Matatandaang inilunsad noong isang linggo ng BIR ang bagong tax drive na "Project Valentine? kung saan ang mga motels at hotels ay isasailalim sa surveillance upang malaman ang tamang tax liabilities. Isa rin ito sa hakbang na ipinatupad ng BIR upang maabot target tax collection nito na P830 bilyon para sa taong 2010.

Sa ilalim na nasabing programa, bumuo ang BIR ng mga panuntunan sa reporting requirements ng mga motels at hotels at ang pag-determine ng value added tax (VAT) na ipapataw sa mga bahay aliwan.

Pagsasara at pagsampa ng tax evasion charges ang magiging kaparusahan kung sakaling mapatunayang nagkakaroon ng under-reporting sa gross taxable sales ng mga nasabing establisimento. (ac agad PIA 12) [top]
