Tagalog News: Mahigit sa 9,600 barangays sa Mindanao nalagyan ng pailaw

Manila (16 February) -- Halos lahat ng barangay sa buong Mindanao ang nagkaroon ng elektrisidad sa ilalalim ng pamumuno ng Pangulong Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

Sinabi ni Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Secretary Ricardo Saludo na siyam na libo anim na raan (9,600) sa siyam na libo pitong daan at tatlumpong (9,730) o siyamnapu't siyam na porsiyento ng barangay sa Mindanao ay mayroon nang kuryente.

Ani Saludo, bagama't hindi kailangan ng Mindanao ang kuryente para mapalago ang produktong pang-agrikultura nito, nakitaan naman ito ng potensyal sa ibang industriya tulad ng Business Processing Outsourcing (BPO) sector na nangangailanan ng elektrisidad.

Binigyang diin din ni Saludo na walang power shortage sa Mindanao kundi tanging tripping ng power lines lang ang nararanasan sa lalawigan. (BDEnestois/PIA 12) [top]
