BFAR turns over P10-M for Dipolog cold storage facility
Dipolog City (16 February) -- Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) ? IX Regional Director Virgilio Alforque has recently turned-over a P10 million check to City Mayor Evelyn T. Uy for the construction of a ten-metric ton ice plant and food storage edifice at barangay Barra this city.
This projects aims to help out local fishermen in preserving their catch especially during peak seasons.
Because of the lack of cold storage, the fishermen's catch could not command better prices more particularly during peak seasons.
