Tagalog News: NFA aangkat ng 3 milyong metriko toneladang bigas

Koronadal City (17 February) -- Nakatakdang aangkat ngayong taon ng tatlong milyong metriko toneladang bigas ang National Food Authority (NFA) mula sa Vietnam, Thailand, at Pakistan.

Ayon kay NFA Administrator Jessup Navarro, kinailangang umangkat ng bansang bigas dahil tinatayang marami ang palayang maaapektuhan ng El Nino.

Halos doble ang aangkating bigas ng bansa ngayong taon kung ikukumpara sa inangkat noong isang taon na umabot ng 1.7 milyong metriko tonelada.

Dagdag pa ni Natividad, naghahanda ang NFA dahil na rin sa naranasang magkasunod na bagyo at dahil sa na rin sa nakaambang epekto ng El Nino.

Inagahan din daw umano ng NFA ang pag-angkat ng bigas para magkaroon ng buffer stock at habang mura pa ang presyo sa world market. (DE Doguiles/PIA 12) [top]
