Tagalog News: Malacaņang: Walang basehan ang takot sa posibleng failure of election

Manila (17 February) -- Ayon sa Malacaņang, walang basehan ang takot sa posibleng failure of elections sa May 10 na umano'y magiging dahilan ng pagpapalawig sa termino ni Pangulong Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

Sinabi ng Election lawyer ng Pangulo na si Romy Macalintal kahapon na walang basehan ang lumalaganap na takot sa posibleng failure of election. Ani Macalintal, kahit hindi gagana ang mga mga machines sa araw ng halalan, maari namang bumoto ng manual ang mga tao. Dagdag pa nya, malayong mangyaring mapalawig pa ang termino ng Pangulo.

Nilinaw din ni Macalintal na ang "failure of elections" ay nangangahulugang hindi makaboboto ang mga tao ng mga kandidatong nais nilang maglingkod sa pamahalaan.

Bagama't posibleng magkaroon ng failure of elections sa ilang presinto sa bansa bunsod ng terrorist attacks, hindi umano ito makaka-epekto sa kabuuang resulta ng eleksiyon, ani Macalintal. (RMPadua/PIA 12) [top]
