RDC-X private sector representatives join 3rd RDC-PSR national conference

Cagayan de Oro City (18 February) -- Four (4) private sector representatives (PSR) of the Regional Development Council of region X attended the 3rd RDC PSRs National Conference at the Waterfront Insular Hotel, Davao City.

NEDA-X Regional Director and RDC-X Vice-Chair, Leon M. Dacanay, Jr., led the delegation including RDC-X Co-Chair Arsenio L. Sebastian III of Oro Chamber; Mr. Nicandro L. Borja, Regional Vice-President of the Association Labor Union-Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (ALU-TUCP); Dr. Modesto C. Babaylan, Past -president of the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (PICE), Misamis Oriental-Cagayan de Oro Chapter; and Maita D. Ignacio, Executive Manager of the Philippine Mental Health Association (PMHA), Misamis Oriental-Cagayan de Oro Chapter. NEDA-X OIC-Assistant Regional Director and RDC-X Secretary, Alan L. Olavides, also joined the team.

With the theme, "The RDC Beyond 2010: Strengthening the Role of the Private Sector," the three-day conference involved talks from distinguished resource persons and field visits to showcase the Davao region's industries and tourism sites.

The conduct of the RDC-PSRs National Conference served as a venue for the PSRs to exchange views, particularly on their role in the RDC. It is aimed at inspiring and motivating the PSRs to carry on with their vital role of being the private sector's spokespersons in the RDCs and the government's partner in regional development.
