Ifugao policemen receive awards, promotions

Lagawe, Ifugao (20 February) -- Seven policemen here were awarded for arresting four hard core communist terrorists (CTS) while 56 others were promoted for excelling in their duties.
In a simple ceremony which celebrated the 19th PNP Anniversary held at Camp Joaquin Dunuan here on February 15, Police Provincial Director PSSupt. Joseph Adnol handed over a letter of commendation to the seven policemen namely PInsp. Ernesto Bekesan, PO3 Carlito Banahn, Alexander Ellag, Silvino Quines, Noli Arquero, Alnor Afalla, and Edgar Ollagon.
The policemen arrest four CTS with five high powered firearms and explosives last November 12, 2009 in Tinoc, Ifugao.
Such diligence and determination in the apprehension of lawless elements is praiseworthy and should be emulated by all. "I am deeply pleased and honored to commend you for your exemplary and concerted effort during the encounter with CTS at Gumhang, Tinoc," Adnol said.
Meanwhile, P.Insp Alex Kimayong, Chief of Police of Alfonso Lista was awarded the Best Police Commissioned Officer of the Year 2009 and the A. Lista Police Station as the Best Municipal Police Station.
SPO3 Oscar Mamaclay was awarded the Best Admin/HRD PNCO while PO3 Marilou Dillagan received the Best WCPD PNCO. Heherson Pinkihan was chosen the Best Operation PNCO; SPO1 Watorie Guiniling received the Best Intel PNCO and SPO2 Cornelio Marawis was the Best Invest PNCO.
Provincial Election Supervisor Ricardo Bolintao, who was the guest of honor commended the men in uniform and said that promotion is the means in which we can go up in society. "Those who have less in life should have more in law," he said.
Adnol said he expects his men to perform better. "You are given more responsibilities to perform by virtue of your promotion and to provide protection and service to the people," he said.
He urged his men to respect their ranks and to look for higher positions that will commensurate to their position. "You should find ways on how to make the PNP effective," Adnol said. He likewise congratulated the families of the said policemen who were present for being understanding on the nature of the job of the PNP and said that the families are part of their duty.
