Gov't commended for stable peace in ComVal

Compostela Valley Province (23 February) -- During the Provincial Peace and Order Council's (PPOC) first meeting for the year on February 9, 2010 at the Social Hall of the Provincial Capitol, it was revealed by PNP Provincial Director Aaron N. Aquino, Philippine Army's Commanding Officer Col. Romeo V. Calizo, and by General Eduardo del Rosario of the 1003rd Brigade that the province is generally peaceful. The crime rate in the month of January has declined as compared to last year.
Governor Arturo T. Uy, PPOC Chairman commended the police force for such effort and coordination in maintaining the peace and order situation of the province.
During the meeting, the PPOC also commended the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)- ComVal District Engineering Office for their exemplary performance in road constructions and in the repair and maintenance of national roads.
On that same day, the Provincial Development Council (PDC) Meeting was also held. Governor Uy as the Chairman further acclaimed the DPWH for including in their plans for the year the construction of four (4) bridges. Three (3) of such will be for the Municipality of Maragusan and the other one (1) will be in Montevista. The PDC immediately passed a resolution to the Regional Development Council (RDC) for a possible inclusion of the planned 3 bridges for Maragusan to the French-Assisted Mega Bridges for Urban Rural Development Projects.
