Waray-Waray News: Comelec: Mga balota sa ARMM may security markings

Manila (23 February) -- Mariing itinanggi ng Commission on Elections (Comelec) ang report na walang security markings ng National Printing Office (NPO) ang naimprentang balotang gagamitin sa Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM).

Sinabi ni Commissioner James Jimenez, na hindi totoong walang security markings ng NPO ang 1.7 milyong balota sa ARMM. Aniya, ang mga nasabing balota ay may UV ink at bar codes na babasahin ng Precinct Count Optical Scan (PCOS) machines.

Ang hindi na-imprenta, ayon kay Jimenez, ay ang dagdag na two-dimensional bar code na nirekomenda ng NPO ilang araw lang bago ang naka-schedule na pag-imprenta ng mga balota para sa ARMM.

Kung isasama pa umano ng Comelec ang 2-D bar codes magagahol na ng oras ang pag-imprenta ng mga balota.

Gayunman, wala umanong dapat ikatakot ang publiko dahil ang mga balota para sa ARMM na naka-imbak sa NPO ngayon ay babasahin pa rin ng PCOS machine at may sapat na security markings.

May limang security markings ang mga balotang gagamitin sa May 10 2010 elections. Kinabibilangan ito ng papel na ginamit, UV ink galing sa Comelec at Smartmatic ?TIM, bar codes, Comelec security markings, at precinct-based numbers. (DE Doguiles/PIA 12) [top]
