NVizcaya Comelec starts public demo on PCOS

Bagabag, Nueva Vizcaya (February 23) -- The Commission on Elections(COMELEC) here has started a series of public demonstrations on the operation of the Precinct Count Optical Scan(PCOS) in a bid to draw support and understanding among voters in the province.
Lawyer Abraham Asuncion, COMELEC provincial supervisor said the series of public demonstrations will be coordinated with local officials, voters, teachers and poll watch organizations to properly orient them on the poll automated machines.
"With this, we can educate our voters and other concerned organizations on the operation and features of the PCOS so that they can appreciate their use and assistance this coming May elections," Asuncion said.
Comelec officials have started their public demonstration in this town Monday, particularly at the gymnasium where local officials and voters attended and participated during the demonstration.
Asuncion said the other targeted towns for public demonstrations are in Solano, Villaverde and Quezon which will be conducted at the Tomas Dacayo gymnasium in February 23, Bambang, Kasibu and Kayapa on February 25, Aritao and Sta. Fe town on February 26 and the towns of Dupax del Norte and Dupax del Sur on February 27.
Asuncion also said that an orientation on the PCOS was also conducted last week among Bureau of Election Inspectors in the province at the Highlander Hotel in Solano town in preparation for the May elections. (PIA NVizcaya) [top]
