By Mai Gevera
Davao City (24 February) -- Identified cosmetic products with mercury content are no longer authorized to be sold in the market.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently warned the public from buying Jiaoli Miraculous Cream; Jiaoli Huichusu Special Cut Genuine; and Jiaoli 2+1 7 days Clearing Facial Spots Suit.
FDA found Mercury in its samples, having exceeded the allowable limit of 1ppm.
The advisory stated that cosmetic products containing such impurities or contaminants that are way beyond the allowable limit clearly pose imminent danger or injury to the consuming public.
Establishments are then warned from not selling or dispensing these products. Anyone found to selling these will be penalized severely. (PIA XI) [top]
