Zambo Norte tops Philhealth enrolment in Region IX

Dipolog City (25 February) -- The Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (Philhealth) has recently recognized the provincial government of Zamboanga del Norte led by Governor Rolando E. Yebes for having enrolled the most number of indigents in the national health insurance program.

In the entire Zamboanga Peninsula, the province has a record enrolment in Philhealth for the indigents amounting to P60 million with 87,000 family-beneficiaries since 2008 to the present.

Governor Yebes said this is the first time that the provincial government has extended and allotted millions of pesos to have the poor families covered under the health insurance program.

It can be recalled that Zamboanga del Norte is one of the twenty poorest provinces in the country. (PIA-ZN) [top]
