Tagalog News: DFA officials magsasanay para sa overseas voting

Manila (25 February) -- Mahigit isang-daang (100) mga opisyales ng Philippine foreign service, kabilang ang mga bagong na-designate na mga ambassadors sa anim (6) na bansa at dalawang (2) incoming heads ng consular posts sa bansang Estados Unidos ang sasailalim sa pagsasanay na sisimulan ngayong araw Pebrero a-25 hanggang a-26.

Ang training ay para sa overseas absentee voting (OAV), counting at canvassing kaugnay sa May 10, 2010 elections.

Kaiba sa itinakdang botohan sa bansa sa Mayo a-10, ang OAV ay gagawin isang buwan bago ang May 10, 2010 elections, o sa Abril a-10, ayon kay Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) undersecretary Rafael Seguis, ang chairman ng OAV Secretariat.

Kasalukuyan na rin umanong inaayos ng DFA at ng Commission on Elections (COMELEC) ang mga preparasyon para sa nabanggit na mahalagang political exercise.

Mahigit limang-daan walumpu't-siyam na libo walong-daan at tatlumpong (589,830) overseas-based na mga botante ang nakarehistro sa Comelec Resident Election Registration Board (RERB) ang nakatakdang boboto sa Abril a-10 sa iba't-ibang panig ng mundo.

Ang mga opisyales na magtatapos sa nabanggit na pagsasanay ay magiging miyembro ng electoral boards sa mga foreign service posts kung saan sila nakabase, gaya ng Special Ballot Reception and Custody Group (SBRCG), Special Board of Election Inspectors (SBEI) at ng Special Board of Canvassers (SBOC).
