Tagalog News: Philippine peso, lalong lalakas

Manila (26 February) -- Lalo pang lalakas ang piso ngayong taon. Ito ang sinabi kahapon ni Dr. Andrew Freris, senior investment strategist for Asia ng BNP Paribas.

Ani Freris, ang piso ay tatama sa 44 o 43 laban sa US dollar ngayong taon. Nagsimula itong lumakas anim na buwan na ang nakalilipas at magpapatuloy pa ito dahil may bahagyang inflation.

Ayon sa datos ng Bango Sentral ng Piipinas, patuloy na bumabawi ang piso mula ng magsara ito sa P49.19 laban sa dolyar noong Nobyembre 2008. Nagsara ito sa P46.03 noong Enero nitong taon.

Sinabi rin ni Freris na patuloy na makatatanggap ang bansa ng matatag na overseas remittance mula sa Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).

Dagdag pa niya, ang pagkakatanggal sa trabaho ng mga Pilipino sa ibang bansa ay bahagi na ng nakaraan at ang pinakamalubhang senaryo ay nakalipas na. (RMPadua/PIA 12) [top]
