2 Cordillerans in top 10 of PMA-MAsidlak Class of 2010

Fort del Pilar, Baguio City (27 February) -- Two Cordillerans made it to the Top 10 of the Philippine Military Academy's "Mandirigmang Sibol ng Dakilang Lahing Kayumanggi or MASIDLAK" Class of 2010, who will graduate on Monday, March 1 with President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo as the guest of honor
Graduating as No. 2 is Cadet Froilan Jick Binlingan Pinay-an, 24, of Poblacion, Hungduan, Ifugao. One of the three distinguished awardees(Starman),Pinay-an will receive numerous awards including the Vice Presidential Saber Award.
Cadet Jacob Jorge Avila Kho, 25, of San Vicente, Baguio, Benguet graduates as the No. 5 of the Masidlak Class. He will receive the Management Plaque and the Social Science Plaque.
During the presentation of the top ten Masidlak class of 2010, PMA Superintendent Leonardo Calderon Jr. stressed that this year's PMA commencement exercise can be considered as a celebration for Cordillera's empowerment for excellence as two cadets in the top 10 graduating class come from the region.
Leading the 226- strong PMA Masidlak Class of 2010 is Cadet Erano Bontilao Belen, of Calindagan, Dumaguete City.
Completing the top 10 are Cdts. Nolito Ong Ebal Jr of Opol, Misamis Oriental at No. 3; Jhonson Reveza Gonzales of Pamplona, Camarines Sur, No. 4; Joel Delos Santos Perante, of Taclobancity, Leyte, 6th; Erwin Ramos Villanueva, of Dasmarinas, Cavite, 7th; Alfie Pancho Agarao, of Carles Iloilo, 8th; Karen Nuevas Padayao, of Ormoc city, Leyte, 9th; and Ric Ivan Cordero Joven, of Surallah, South Cotabato, 10th. Nuevas is the only female in the Top 10.
The PMA MASIDLAK Class of 2010 is composed of 226 cadets, 31 of them are females. 122 of the graduates will be join the he Philippine Army, 45 to the Philippine Air Force, and 59 to the Philippine Navy. (PIA) [top]
