Tagalog News: Hindi makakagawa ng quick counts ang mga TV networks, ayon sa Comelec

Manila (4 March) -- Mahihirapang magsagawa ng mga TV networks ng live coverage at parallel quick counts sa computerized election sa Mayo, ayon sa Commission on Elections (Comelec).

Paliwanag ni Comelec Spokesperson James Jimenez hindi na magiging applicable ang quick count sa gagawing halalan sa Mayo 10 dahil mas mabilis ang official quick count sa darating na eleksyon gamit ang precinct count optical scan (PCOS) machine.

Dagdag pa ni Jimenez sa sistema ng automated election, ang pagboto ay magsisimula ng alas siyete ng umaga at magtatapos ng alas sais ng hapon. Kasabay ng pagboto ang electronic transmission ng resulta sa national, provincial at municipal boards of canvassers pati na rin sa Kapisanan ng Brodkaster sa Pilipinas (KBP).

Agad-agad ding matutunghayan ng "real time" ang resulta ng botohan sa web site ng Comelec na www.comelec.gov.ph.

Aniya maaalis din sa bagong sistema ang isyu ng "trending" na sinasabing ginagawang basehan ng ilang election operators para makapag-manufacture ng election results sa mga lugar kung saan hindi pa nabibilang ang mga boto. (DE Doguiles/PIA 12) [top]
