Mati City gets brand new fire truck

by Mika S. Magtulis

Mati City (5 March) -- DILG Asst. Secretary for Plans and Programs Hon. Eubert F. Gutierrez together with Regional Director Quirino M. Libunao turned-over a brand new fire truck to Mati City Mayor Michelle N. Rabat and local functionaries on March 2, 2010 to augment the Bureau of Fire Protection's (BFP) firefighting capability.

In a simple but fitting ceremony at the Mati City Hall grounds Mayor Rabat said "This new fire truck will really make a big difference in our fire prevention preparedness measures especially so that we are celebrating this month the Fire Prevention Month".

Bureau of Fire Protection Regional Director Victoriano C. Remedio also expressed their gratitude to DILG Sec. Ronaldo V. Puno for helping the city boost its fire fighting capability.

Asec Gutierrez on his part articulated "This is part of DILG's commitment to LGUs in helping them to be fire and disaster-ready at all times. He also added that the Secretary is hoping that this equipment will be put to good use and will be maintained well by the city". (DILG-XI) [top]
