Tagalog News: 10 namumukod-tanging sundalo ng AFP pinarangalan ni PGMA

Manila (5 March) -- Pinarangalan ni Pangulong Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo kahapon ang sampung sundalo sa kanilang walang pag-iimbot na katatagan at katapangan sa pagprotekta ng mga mamamayan at pagpapanatili ng sovereignty ng bansa sa Rizal Hall ng Malakanyang kahapon.

Ang TOPS ay taunang proyekto ng Metrobank Foundation Inc. (MFI) at Rotary Club of Makati Metro.

Bawat taon, tatlong namumukod-tanging mga sundalo na kinabinilangan ng dalawang enlisted personnel at isang commissioned officer, ang kinikila mula sa tatlong major services ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) tulad ng Philippine Army (PA), Philippine Navy (PN) at Philippine Air Force (PAF). Isang sundalo rin ang pinipili mula sa technical service units ng AFP.

Sa taong ito, ang mga TOPS awardees mula sa Philippine Army ay sina Col. Melquiades Feliciano at Master Sergeants Ruben Lucero at Hercules Regis.

Naging awardees din sina Col. Nathaniel Casem, Technical Sergeant Marcelo Batingan at Sergeant Vicente Sustiviero, Jr. ng Philippine Navy.

Ang mga pinarangalan mula sa Air Force ay sina Col. Arnold Mancita, Master Sergeant Leonilo Pedrosa at Technical Sergeant Rogelio Alarcon, Jr.

Awardee rin si Major Vicente Magaro mula sa Office of the Army Dental Surgeon sa Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.

Bawat isa sa sampung awardees ay nakatanggap ng plake mula sa Pangulo at cash prize na P250, 000 mula sa Metrobank Foundation. (BDEnestois/PIA12) [top]
