Negros Occidental board of election inspectors undergo training
Bacolod City (10 March) -- The series of trainings for the Board of Election Inspectors, BEI, has recently started in preparation for the May 2010 elections.
According to Provincial Election Supervisor Lawyer Jessie Suarez, the training is composed of two components, the lecture for general instructions for the Board of Election Inspectors and PCOS procedures and operations.
The Comelec also conducted a written examination and practical exercise on PCOS machine at the Bacolod Pavilion Resort, Reclamation Area, venue of the activity.
The training involved eight batches with the first batch consisting of 550 participants.
With 4,100 BEI needed in the province, Suarez said the activity will last until March 25.
Ninety (90) PCOS machines were needed for the activity while the 2,050 PCOS units will be delivered at least a week before the May 10 elections.
Suarez said the public school teachers were enthusiastic and they were well accommodated.
Earlier, he told PIA that 33 computer technicians have already been trained. They will troubleshoot the machines in case it malfunctions on the day of the election. (PIA-LOL) [top]
