Ombudsman to assist Capiceņos on March 17

by Jemin B. Guillermo

Roxas City (16 March) -- Capiceņos will have a chance tomorrow to avail of the assistance from the Office of the Ombudsman.

Associate Graft Investigation Officer Evangeline Nuņal from the Office of the Ombudsman in the Visayas disclosed that they will be here in Roxas City on March 17 for a regional forum with the members of the Citizen Crime Watch at the Capiz State University main campus auditorium.

Nuņal said that Assistant Ombudsman in the Visayas Virginia Palanca-Santiago will lead the team tomorrow in Capiz for said forum with a theme "Ombudsman as Partner in Nation Building."

She stressed that Citizen Crime Watch Regional Chairman Alex Deita invited Santiago to lecture said group.

Nuņal revealed that they will establish a Help Desk at CapSU Roxas City Auditorium on said date to facilitate the request for assistance from the public.

She said that two investigators will also join the team of Santiago to assist Capiceņos, particularly on the request for Ombudsman?s clearance for promotion or retirement as well as accept complaints like graft charges and the like.

She added that they will also assist Capiceņos particularly in the follow up of pending request with other government agencies or government owned and controlled corporations that are not acted upon yet.

According to her, they will also give guidelines to the public regarding their Oplan Red Plate which is focused on investigating abuses in the use of government vehicles.

Nuņal also urges Capiceņos to take time and avail of their services while the team is in Roxas City.

She said that they will accept clients from 9 o?clock in the morning to 4 o?clock in the afternoon of said date. (PIA) [top]
