PPCRV, AdZU, UZ to host Presidential Candidates Forum in Zamboanga City

Zamboanga City (16 March) -- The Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) and Ateneo de Zamboanga University, in partnership with Universidad de Zamboanga, will hold a Presidential Candidates? Forum on March 17, 2010 from 8:00 am to 12:00 noon at the Summit Center, Tetuan, Zamboanga City.

The forum aims to generate information from these presidentiables regarding their vision, platform, and stand on issues that are affecting Mindanao.

There will be a set of panel interviewers who will field questions relating to issues involving peace and conflict transformation, economic sustainability, environmental sustainability, good governance, and social services. All questions will be framed around the Mindanao experience and context. The audience will also be given the chance to ask questions.

The expected audience will comprise the different sectors from Zamboanga City, Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, Sibugay, Ipil, and Pagadian. The organizers said this composition of the audience is enough to represent Western Mindanao.

Also expected to attend are the bishops from the different dioceses and prelatures, and Local Government Units from the region.

Expected number of audience is 8,000. Free tickets are being distributed to those who are interested to witness the event. Those who wish to attend may see their parishes or barangay, or civil society and people?s organizations? for the tickets.
