Women's Congress in Cebu urges LGUs massive info on Magna Carta of Women

Cebu, Philippines (22 March) -- The 10th Provincial Women's Congress in Cebu passed two resolutions urging all LGUs the adoption of the Magna Carta of Women and to institute measures for global warming and climate change during its assembly at the Cebu International Convention Center on March 19 in celebration of the Women's Month.

Resolution 2010-01 urges all LGUs in Cebu province to immediately conduct massive information, education and communication campaign on the Magna Carta of Women.

The resolution recognizes that the Magna Carta that embodies the rights, privileges and responsibilities of women, the government and the entire Filipino people.

The 2nd resolution urges the national government and the Cebu provincial government to enjoin all LGUs in the country to institute measures that would pave the way for solutions to global warming and climate change.

It further requests all concerned institutions to conduct another massive IEC campaign on the matter and to fully implement RA-9003 and other environment-related laws and issuances.

On mass motion, the 10th Cebu Provincial Women's Congress passed the two resolutions. (PIA-7/MBCN) [top]
