PIA Press Release

Search is on for accomplished youth organizations

Iloilo City (22 March) -- Entries for the search for the Ten Accomplished Youth Organizations (TAYO) in the country are now being accepted, according to the National Youth Commission (NYC), one of the organizers.

The deadline for submission of entries is July 30, 2010.

Now, on its 8th year, the search is hailed as the country?s leading search for outstanding groups of young Filipinos that are instrumental in the development of the country through simple, worthwhile and notable projects implemented in their communities.

Aside from the NYC, the search is organized by the TAYO Awards Foundation and the Office of Senator Kiko Pangilinan. TAYO 8 is also presented by Coca-Cola Foundation Philippines. It is open to all groups, organizations, clubs or societies composed of at least 15 members who are 15 to 30 years old.

Organizations shall be judged based on their project entry that made an impact in their schools or communities under the search.

In 2009, two youth organizations from Iloilo successfully made it to the search. These are the Iloilo Prima Galaw Productions (IPGP) and the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK)-Passi City Federation.

A grand prize of P50,000 plus a specially-crafted trophy await each winning organization.

A copy of the entry form and the application briefer can be downloaded from the websites of the TAYO Awards Foundation at and the National Youth Commission at

For inquiries call the TAYO SECRETARIAT at (02) 687-5917, (02) 781-1406 or 0917-898-8296 or email at (PIA) [top]
