Tagalog News: Mga pinuno ng Sulpicio Lines kakasuhan ng DOJ

Manila (23 March) -- Kakasuhan na ng Department of Justice (DOJ) sa Lunes ang dalawang opisyal ng Sulpicio Lines kaugnay sa pagkalunod ng M/V Princess of the Stars noong ika 21 ng Hunyo taong 2008 sa kasagsagan ng bagyong Frank.

Nakatakdang kasuhan ng reckless imprudence resulting in multiple homicide, serious physical injuries, and damage to properties sina Sulpicio Lines Inc. vice president Edgar Go at Captain Florencio Marimon Jr.

Sa isang resolusyon na inisyu ni Justice Secretary at Solicitor General Alberto Agra, tinanggihan nito ang petition for review ni Go dahil wala umano itong merito.

Ayon pa kay Agra, nabigo si Go bilang team leader ng Crisis Management Committee, na utusan si Marimon na ikansela ang paglalayag ng M/V Princess of the Star sa kabila ng babala ng Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) at pagtaas nito ng Signal No. 3 sa lugar ng Marinduque, Romblon, at Oriental Mindoro kung saan dumadaan ang nasabing barko.

Matatandaang lumubog ang M/V Princess of the Stars sa karagatan malapit sa San Fernando, Romblon noong Hunyo 21, 2008 na ikinamatay ng mahigit walong daang katao. (DE Doguiles/PIA 12) [top]
