Poll body asks voters' double check
Your names with Comelec watchlist
Manila (23 March) -- The Commission on Elections has advised voters to pre-check their names in the watch list of multiple registrants to avoid disenfranchisement in the May 10 elections.
Elections Commissioner Gregorio Larrazabal said voters have barely eight week to verify whether they are in the list of double registrants.
Comelec said the watch list will serve as guide for voters, as well as to the Board of Election Inspectors to determine whether an individual is registered in the precinct where he or she will vote.
The poll body has discovered 704,542 multiple registrants in the voters' list. (PIA) [top]
