RDC calls anew nominees for private sector representatives

by Rizalie Anding Calibo

Province of Siquijor (25 March) -- The Regional Development Council (RDC) in region 7 is reiterating its call to all 391 Private Sector Organizations (PSOs) operating in Central Visayas to participate in the nomination of RDC Private Sector Representative (PSR) candidates for 2010 to 2013.

The RDC-7, in its Full Council Meeting at the Siquijor State College (SSC) Tuesday (March 23), invites all interested private sector organizations (PSOs) in the provinces of Bohol, Cebu, Negros Oriental and Siquijor to have their organizations accredited with the RDC so they can participate in the selection process.

The accreditation of private sector organizations is still ongoing and will continue until March 31, after which the simultaneous provincial elections will be conducted on May 28.

Confirmation by REDC of new PSRs is on June 24 this year.

Private sector organizations include industry associations, cultural associations, civic clubs and cooperatives.

For accreditation, PSOs must have a legal personality or have been registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission or any government agency.

They must be run by Filipinos and must have conducted socio-economic activities for at least three years.

PSOs with government officials and employees as ex-oficio members or whose operations are funded by the government are also disqualified.

As of March 09, only 30 Private Sector Organizations (PSOs) have submitted the requirements for accreditation? four from Bohol, 21 from Cebu, 4 from Negros Oriental and 1, from Siquijor, the RDC secretariat said.

Accreditation forms are available at the office of National Economic and Development Authority in Central Visayas 7 (NEDA-7) in sitio Sudlon, barangay Lahug, Cebu City. (PIA-Siquijor) [top]
