Tagalog News: Comelec iginiit na may eleksyon sa Mayo

Manila (25 March) -- Humiling ang Commission on Elections (Comelec) sa mga kritiko nito na tigilan na ang pang-iintriga na magkakaroon ng failure of election. Iginiit din ng Comelec na tiyak na may eleksyon sa ika-10 ng Mayo, 2010.

Si Comelec Chairman Jose Melo mismo ang nakiusap sa ilang grupo kasama ang oposisyon at ilang poll watchdogs na huwag nang magsalita patungkol sa umano?y pagkakaroon ng failure of election.

Ani Melo, siguradong may magaganap na halalan sa buong bansa sa Mayo 10.

Paliwanag pa nito, kahit na papalya ang lahat ng precinct count optical scan (PCOS) machine, na sadyang imposible, magkakaroon pa rin ng halalan kung darating sa mga presinto ang mga botante may mga balota na maaring mabilang ng manwal.

Kung meron man daw failure of election, mangyayari ito sa iilang lugar at sa mga kadahilanang di mapipigilan tulad ng may biglang nagpatayan sa isang barangay at natakot ang mga tao para bumoto.

Sa ilalim ng Omnibus Election Code maari lang ideklara ng Comelec ang failure of election kung hindi makakaboto ang mga mamamayan dahil sa force majeure, tulad ng lindol, tsunami, terorismo, at karahasan. (DE Doguiles/PIA 12) [top]
