Dumaguete candidates forum reset after Holy Week

Dumaguete City (25 March) -- Candidates Forum scheduled on March 26 by the Diocesan Electoral Board (DEB) is postponed and reset after Holy Week as each political party will have a grand rally as its opening salvo of the local campaign elections.
DEB Convenor Rev. Fr. Julius Heruela said the Board will give way the particular date for political rallies to provide the candidates ample time to prepare their platforms of governance and make themselves available to speak before the electorates.
Supposedly the first to sit down in the series of fora are the candidates for gubernatorial and vice gubernatorial and 2nd district representative seats this week at Quezon Park, this city.
After Holy Week, the DEB has 10 scheduled dates for Candidates Forum lined up where voters have the chance to scrutinize key local candidates that will help them decide on whom to choose and vote for this coming elections.
The electoral board will release the final schedule of the Candidates Forum next week.
Together with the PPCRV, Comelec, Namfrel, PIA (Philippine Information Agency), CBCP-NASSA and AAGOGO, the DEB set the guidelines for the candidates to observe proper decorum in reacting to statements of fellow candidates during the forum.
The guidelines also include for panel of reactors of sectoral and media representatives to shoot their questions directly with no further comment and suggestions and for the audience is discourage to make some unnecessary comments or heckling. (PIA/JCT) [top]
