PDEA busts drug traffickers in Camiguin and Bukidnon

Cagayan de Oro City (25 March) -- Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in region 10 conducted a simultaneous buy-bust operation at the provinces of Camiguin and Bukidnon last March 23, 2010.

Arrested suspects were: 1) Keen "Putot" G. Luyahan, 23 years old, single, residing at Sitio Tapon, Barangay Poblacion, Mambajao, Camiguin. The suspect is listed under the target list of PDEA-National Drugs Information System (NDIS).

Recovered from his possession and control were two (2) pieces of transparent cellophane containing suspected marijuana dried leaves, four (4) pieces of One Hundred Peso bills, one (1) piece Twenty Peso bill and one (1) unit Nokia cellphone; and

2) Peter Paul Vallecer y Rubin (listed as priority target list in Bukidnon), 39 years old, married, BS Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE) graduate, coconut farm caretaker and residing at Luminton Street Barangay Sumpong, Malaybalay City.

Recovered from the operation was one (1) piece heat sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu with approximate weight of more or less 0.15 grams and one (1) Five Hundred Peso bill.

Director Gilberto B. Abanto, Jr. said alleged suspects were temporarily detained at Mambajao Police Station and Malaybalay City Police Station respectively for booking and documentation while confiscated drug and non-drug items were brought to their nearest Philippine National Police (PNP) Crime Laboratory for qualitative and quantitative examinations. Case for violation of RA 9165 is now being prepared for filing of appropriate charges in court. (PDEA) [top]
