Model police station to rise in Antique town
San Jose, Antique (4 May) -- A model police station will rise soon in the town of San Jose de Buenavista, as the Police Regional Office 6 and the Local Government Unit of San Jose de Buenavista held the unveiling ceremony recently at the Diosdado Macapagal Municipal Gym, Dalipe, San Jose, Antique with Pcsupt Isagani R Cuevas, Regional Director, as guest of honor and speaker.
The construction of the model police station is one of the top priority projects of the PNP Integrated Transformation Program under the leadership of C, PNP Jesus A Versoza.
Pcsupt Artemio G Hicban, Deputy Regional Director, who represented Pcsupt Isagani R Cuevas said that the future police station aims to uplift the working condition of the police force that would eventually enhance their capability in fighting criminality and in providing the quality of service to the locality of San Jose.
The project has an allocation of P14.5 million, in which, the P13 million came from the Philippine National Police while the Local Government Unit of San Jose, aside from the lot they have donated, has shelled out P1.5 M for its construction.
Mayor Rony Molina stressed that the need for San Jose PNP to have its own police station has been long overdue. For a long time the police personnel is suffering from poor working environment, that is why he extended his effort in pushing for the realization of the project.
According to Pci Gilbert T Gorero, Chief of Police of San Jose the construction of the station will start after the election period. The edifice will be a Type "A" kind of police station. "We are very happy that finally the San Jose Police Station will have its own administrative building, he exclaimed. "With the coming of the police station, we can assure that we can provide quality services to the people of San Jose towards attaining a peaceful, safe and orderly community" PCI Gorero added.

Antique PNP deploys troops for election duty
San Jose, Antique (4 May) -- The Antique Police Provincial Office have deployed augmented police commissioned officers and police non-commissioned officers to secure the May 10, 2010 elections in a simple send off ceremonies as part of its nationwide campaign to implement a peaceful and orderly elections.
A total of two hundred seventeen (217) police personnel were augmented to the present workforce of the Antique PPO in pursuant to Letter Orders Numbers 44, 46, 47, 49, 46, 52, 53, 60 and 63 of the Police Regional Office 6 dated April 27, 2010.
The augmentation came from the Regional Headquarters, National Support Units, some of them were graduates of SCOUT, and others are undergoing the Public Safety Officer Basic Course (PSOBC), Junior Leadership Course (JLC), Field Training Program (FTP) and Public Safety Basic Recruit Course (PSBRC).
In the ceremony, Pssupt Ruperto T Floro said that the personnel will perform their election duties starting May 3, 2010, and will end on May 13, 2010. "These additional troops is a big help to stations with depleted personnel and will surely boost the security measures in ensuring the conduct of honest, peaceful and orderly national and local elections", Floro stressed.
