Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya (May 4) -- Materials and equipments to be used during the May 10 national and local elections are now being distributed in the provinces polling precincts, according to the officials of the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) here.
Some 391 Ballot Boxes and paper ballots have arrived in the province without problems along the way, Hilda Padilla, assistant provincial election officer said.
"The paper ballots arrived Friday last week and they were delivered directly to their respective precincts through the assistance of our local police while the ballot boxes arrived today," Padilla added.
The paper ballots were escorted by members of the Philippine National Police (PNP) from 15 municipalities of the province.
Aside from the ballot boxes and paper ballots, Padilla also said more than 400 Precinct Count Optical Scan (PCOS) machines have been delivered earlier with generators and 42 battery packs.
The said equipments are part of the preparations for the forthcoming national and local election in May 10 this year.
"So far, we are peaceful in our province and we hope that this will be carried out until the end of the elections," Padilla stressed. (PIA NVizcaya) [top]
