DSWD launches 4Ps jingle-making contest

Tuguegarao City (4 May) -- The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) 2 recently launched a jingle-making contest to relay the key message of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) through the use of music.
Patrianne Padua, designated Information Officer of 4P's said the contest is open to all residents of the region including the non-beneficiaries of 4Ps.
"Contestants below 18 years of age must submit a parental consent allowing the child to join the contest," Padua stressed.
The jingle must be an original composition highlighting the theme "Kayang-kaya ng Pinoy Tumawid Tungo sa Kaunlaran" and must contain the importance of health and education in the fight against poverty.
The lyrics can be in English, Tagalog or combination of English and Tagalog. Any musical instrument can be used as accompaniment at the composers' discretion. A capella is also allowed.
All entries must be submitted in properly labeled CD with the tract title, composer/performer/s name and contact information. Lyrics of the song should be typewritten or printed legibly in an A4-sized bond paper.
The criteria for judging are: Lyrics-30%; musicality (execution/over-all performance)-35% and originality (creativity)-35%.
