PNP-2 welcomes new chief

Tuguegarao City (4 May) -- Men and women of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Regional Command Office 2 welcomed their new Regional Director in a turn-over ceremony witnessed by directors and other officials from different line agencies at Camp Marcelo A. Adduru, here.
Outgoing Regional Director PCSupt. Robert M. Damian, who retired at the age of 56, relinquished his post as commander of PNP Region 2 to PCSupt. Benedict Michael Fokno, a native of Baguio City and former head of the engineering department at PNP National headquarter.
Fokno said though he is not born in the region, he is very familiar with the area because he has been visiting the region when he chaired the Integrated PNP Program.
In his message, Fokno thanked the police officers of region 2, the regional directors and other officials of the different line agencies for welcoming him as the new head of PNP region 2.
He also solicited the support of every individual to take part in the maintenance of peace and order in the community, especially in the conduct of clean and peaceful election on May 10.
"I believe that you will give your support to me and to the whole PNP family to make this forthcoming election clean and peaceful", Fokno said.
On the other hand, Gen. Damian thanked every individual who played vital role in the success of the programs, projects and concerns of PNP regionwide during his term.
"May I express my heartfelt gratitude to all of you guys for your support, dedication and professionalism in the duration of my term as the Regional Director of PNP Cagayan Valley. We have several achievements and we have successfully surpassed the challenges of the time", Damian said.
Meantime, Fokno said he will meet all the department head of PNP region 2 and orient himself on the issues and concerns of region 2 but he said that there will be no reshuffling of department heads. (PIA 2) [top]
