LGU Kapalong employees' association prexy elected to PSLINK post

Davao City (5 May) -- Kapalong Municipal Mayor Edgardo L. Timbol lauded two of Kapalong United Local Employees' Association's (KULEA) officers, Crispiniano C. Tayong and Esmael L. Alimes as they were hailed Deputy General Secretary and Member Auditor respectively of the National Executive Board election during the recently concluded 7th Triennial Conference of the Public Services Labor Independent Confederation (PSLink) in San Mateo Rizal.

Tayong who has been KULEA's president for 3 terms signified his intent to run for the said PSLINK highest post for Mindanao along with other candidates. It was learned that the other delegate-candidates from Mindanao showed solidarity as they withdrew their candidacy paving the way to the victory of Mr. Tayong for the post.

Along with Mr. Tayong, Esmael L. Alimes, one of KULEA's Board of Directors made it as Auditor. "I am so happy for them. Such great achievement signifies that our continued effort to support the professional and career growth of our employees is not in futile." Mayor Timbol stressed.

Mr. Tayong and the rest of the elected officers for PSLink National Board for Mindanao who has an established office in Davao City will take charge in the implementation of various programs and projects particularly on anti-corruption and anti-red tape issues in the government to include facilitating of PSLINK over all operation in Mindanao which covers financial, recruitment and advocacy operations.

"It's a great honor for me and for the public sector union in Kapalong for the great chance of serving our neighboring LGUs. With our recent achievement, we could serve as inspiration to other labor leaders who are reluctant in helping their co-employees in attaining the benefits provided by law," Mr. Tayong said in an interview.

He also assures the local chief executive that he will serve as a role model to all the employees in the local government most specially that he is now holding such highest post in Mindanao. With his new designation, Mr. Tayong was also issued by PSLINK with a Mitsubishi Adventure. He will serve PSLINK Mindanao for 5 years. (cj-MIO Kapalong) [top]
