Tagalog News: 2010 review conference ng 189 UN states-parties nagbukas na

Manila (5 May) -- Nagbukas na ang isang buwang 2010 Review Conference (RevCon) ng 189 bansang kasama sa Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) sa United Nations headquarters sa New York City na pinangungunahan ni Philippine Ambassador Libran Cabactulan na pinuno rin ng Philippine mission sa New York.

Pinangunahan ni Philippine Foreign Affairs secretary Alberto G. Romulo ang pagbubukas ng sesyon noong Mayo 3, sa muling nananawagan sa isang mundong walang nuclear weapon.

Ani Romulo, tututukan ng buong mundo ang PIlipinas at ang isang buwang Review Conference hanggang sa Mayo 28.

Binigyang diin ni Romulo ang interes ng Pilipinas na magkaroon ng balanseng pagpapatupad ng lahat ng tatlong pillars ng treaty kabilang ang nuclear disarmament, nuclear non-proliferation at mapayapang paggamit ng nuclear energy.

Aniya, isang magandang option din ng Pilipinas ang paggamit ng nuclear energy bilang tugon sa climate change. (BDEnestois/PIA12) [top]
