Development plan pushes balanced development for Nueva Vizcaya

Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya (May 6) -- Various projects being carried by the provincial government within the province are keeping the province on a balanced development, according to provincial executives here.
Provincial executives here also expressed optimism that with the implementation of various projects designed to boost the infrastructure, education, agriculture and health-tourism requirements including lined up projects for other areas of concern, the province's upland municipalities will be developed at par with their lowland counterparts.
"The infrastructure projects being implemented by the provincial government are not a result of accidental planning but they are consistent with our development framework plan which was crafted by multi-sectoral groups," stressed Mike Jubay, provincial planning and development officer.
He said that while in the past, lowland municipalities in the province get more development attention in terms of infrastructure projects, the provincial government is now focusing its development efforts to upland towns as part of its widely distributed long-term investment scheme.
Jubay said upland development is now being carried out to balance its growth potentials with lowland towns through the infusion and construction farm-to-market roads, school buildings and health centers among others.
"We are also doing social infrastructure projects such as improvement and upgrading of our health facilities through our Fourmula 1 program with the Department of Health(DOH) and other partners," he added.
According to Jubay, these development projects have been undertaken because it also triggered counterparting scheme among concerned local officials and local government units, citing that the provincial government has also increased its funding allotment for agriculture development and its support infrastructure requirements such as construction and improvement of irrigation systems.
With this endeavors, Jubay said the Asian Development Bank(ADB) has commended Nueva Vizcaya's Provincial Development and Physical Framework Plan as one of the best in the pilot areas in the country after a technical review conducted by the National Economic and Development Authority(NEDA) and ADB.
"Our development plan has become a model among other provinces in the country," Engineer Eddie Sabado of the PPDO also said.
He also said that other development projects lined up for the province are : the protection and management of the province's watershed haven, development of the towns of Bambang, Bayombong and Solano as a tri-metropolitan areas because of its commercial and financial potentials and the tertiary growth plan for Aritao town as a regional transport hub for regions 1, 2 3 and the Cordillera Administrative Region(CAR).
According to Sabado, projects which are in the pipeline are the development of the alternate road from Aritao town to Dupax del Norte town, the Quirino-Aurora lateral road project and the Carranglan-San Jose-Aritao alternate road which is needed during the closure of the Dalton Pass area in Sta.
