Bacolod DepEd personnel ready for May 10 elections
Bacolod City (6 May) -- After undergoing trainings and briefings from the Commission on Elections, city public school teachers here are ready to serve the polls on Monday, May 10.
"We are proud, as teachers, to be part of this momentous event-the country's first automated election," acting Bacolod City Schools Division Superintendent Doctor Gregorio Moyani, said.
He told PIA at least close to a thousand public school teachers and DepEd staff will act in various capacities as Board of Election Inspectors, BEI, poll clerk and third members in the city's 308 clustered precincts.
As civil servants, we are tasked to serve in the exercise and as such, teachers enjoy the trust of the Filipino people to carry out a clean and honest election, he said.
"Our preparations are matched with prayers that no teacher gets harm, hurt or get into trouble even after the elections," he told PIA.
Moyani disclosed that the Integrated Bar of the Philippines, in a MOA with government agencies, will offer legal assistance to teachers if their service is needed.
A Task Force Operation Center will be opened 24hrs at the Bacolod City Division Office during the elections to answer queries and to attend to eventualities during the day. (PIA-LOL) [top]
