Bacolod City assists 3,547 patients
Bacolod City (7 May) -- The city government's intensified medical assistance program at the Western Visayas Regional Hospital (WVRH) has benefited 3,547 Bacoleņos since it started in January.
At least P2.65 million has been released to many beneficiaries as financial assistance for those who were admitted at the hospital.
It has been the thrust of the city government to assist its less privileged members to help improve their living conditions; and to provide them with means of livelihood to uplift their lives.
The city decided to put up a medical assistance program at the regional hospital as many Bacoleņos cannot afford to seek medical treatment.
Patients requiring hospital admission are immediately provided with the monetary assistance upon submission of requirements.
The financial assistance extended by the city is used to purchase the required medication and supplies, and will continue until a patient is discharged from the hospital.
Bacoleņos who may want to avail of the city government's medical assistance program are requested to go to the Department of Social Services and Development of Social Services and Development Staff, who are assigned at the hospital.
Aside from the medical assistance program at WVRH, the city government has been continuously providing medical and burial assistance to needy Bacoleņos. (PIO/PIA/cad) [top]
