Comelec distributes 27 contingency PCOS machines to Cagayan de Oro

Cagayan de Oro City (10 May) -- All 358 Precinct Count Optical Scan (PCOS) and corresponding CF cards for use of Commission on Elections (Comelec) in the city plus a spare of 27 PCOS have been distributed to all the clustered precincts of the city, as of 12:00 midnight of May 9, 2010.

Fitness testing and sealing of these PCOS were 100 percent completed, as of the period and all their batteries were found to be working, Atty. Gina Luna Zayas-Sabio, City Election Officer, said.

However, the PCOS machine, each, in one (1) clustered precinct for Barangay 17 and for Barangay Kauswagan were found to be defective.

Sabio also said all watchers' IDs, Comelec passes, sealing and testing kit, padlocks with keys, Board of Election Inspector (BEI) Guides plus other supplies like bond paper with COMELEC logo have also been distributed, as of the period. (PIA-10) [top]
